Passion for Love Meets Basics of Business
Dr. Isabell Springer’s journey to social entrepreneurship came through personal struggle, but her success in business has come in large part thanks to what she learned in the Startup Quest® program.
Dr. Springer formed LovEd (formerly Driver’s Ed for Love) in Gainesville while searching for answers after her own divorce. The primary product is LOVE101, an interactive workshop that provides the roadmap to navigating love relationships.
She was raising her daughter and working toward her Ph.D. in Education while she grew the LOVE101 program. She had success with the program on several college campuses in Central Florida, but found that she needed more business knowledge and entrepreneurial skills to meet her expansion goals.
So after obtaining her Ph.D., she applied to, and was randomly selected for, the Startup Quest® program.
“The Startup Quest® program gave me the confidence to take the next step in my career and with my business. Startup Quest® is a safe place where you don’t have to have everything figured out,” Dr. Springer said. “The mentors and guest speakers are there to help you through the entire program and beyond.”
Since graduating from Startup Quest®, Dr. Springer has secured investors and is developing a train-the-trainer program for others to deliver LOVE101 across the nation. In addition, the company is preparing for a college campus tour, developing a LOVE101 app and interactive eBook for smartphones and tablets. With the new skills that she learned at Startup Quest®, Dr. Springer plans to expand the LOVE101 curriculum to address divorce and healing among middle school students and adults.
“No words can describe how thankful I am to Startup Quest® for giving me the tools to grow my business and to change the world,” said Dr. Springer.
